I have been drawing since early childhood - first simple outline drawings of portraits and other subjects, followed by portraits with more details and shading until I decided to use oils and watercolours some time in my twenties.
 

Due to my parents’ opposition to my studying art because ‘you can’t make a living in that profession’, I studied languages instead. Restricting work commitments and a few rare opportunities for my art influenced my decision to postpone art until my retirement.

Retirement has afforded me time to attend several art courses, namely Aberystwith University and Carmarthenshire Council courses in acrylics, mixed media, landscape painting, portraits painting and sketchbook studies.  oils pastels and pencil. 

Besides painting, I also enjoy different fabrics designs, so I love to make bags, aprons, table runners and table tops from various materials.
